The cast from Mean Girls made a video encouraging people to donate to a fund to help benefit families of victims from Las Vegas.
October 3rd, also known as ‘International Mean Girls Day’, is the famous quote in the movie ‘Mean Girls’. The lines,”What day is it?” “It’s October 3rd…” have been recognized for the last 13 years since the movie premiered in 2004.
However, this year, the cast is sending out a different message to recognize this day. Sadly today is also 2 days after one of the deadliest mass shootings recent U.S. history has ever seen. The tragic event that happened in Vegas at a country music festival, leaves the world devastated and over 50 innocent lives lost with over 500 injured.
‘Mean Girls’ cast members Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, Jonathan Bennett and Daniel Franzese, posted a video about a GoFundMe account they started. The cast has decided to use this day to encourage people to donate to benefit victims affected in the Vegas shooting.
“100% of the proceeds will go to the National Compassion Fund.”
Right now their goal is to reach $300,000.
In the video, they mention that even donating just $3 (in honor of October 3rd) can help reach their goal!
