What exactly happens when six women walk into a wedding, all dressed similarly...?
Normally when a group of women at a wedding show up dressed alike, it’s most likely because they’re bridesmaids.
However, in the case of one wedding, six women accidentally showed up in nearly identical dresses…
It happened this past weekend, in beautiful Sydney, Australia.
The wedding guests were sporting some very similar-looking dresses in dark-navy lace…and everyone noticed!
But if you look closely at the photo, the woman on the left and third to the left, have subtle differences compared to the other four women. Their dresses contain extra lace on the edges, a line across the chest, and a slightly different pattern on the bottom half of the dress.
The two, similar-looking, styles of dresses are from shops in Australia.
The first dress comes from Forever New. It’s called the Debbie Lace Pencil Dress and retails for $160 Australian Dollars ($127 USD).
The second style of dress comes from Portmans. It’s called the Lucky In Love Lace Dress and retails for $150 Australian Dollars ($119 USD).
In an interview with Daily Telegraph, the bride, Julia Mammone, shared how she felt about the coincidental situation that happened at her own wedding.
“At first there were a few dirty looks among the girls in the same dress who didn’t quite know whether to laugh it off or go home and get changed.”
But Julia wasn’t going to let this affect her negatively on her wedding day. She found humor in the situation, along with her fellow bridesmaids.
One of the dress clone victims was Debbie Speranza. Debbie is actually the woman who shared the comedic photo and said that she had to do a doubletake when she first saw her cousin dressed exactly like her.
“My cousin mouthed ‘oh my god’ back at me from the other side of the reception room. Next thing we knew there were four others in the same friggin dress. What a bloody nightmare!”
In the end, the women decided to have a laugh at the irony in all of this and made the most of their time at the wedding. I mean weddings are to be celebrated…might as well have a few drinks and enjoy the night!
If this style of dress is that popular at one person’s wedding, I’m sure that it will soon sell out fast!
Let’s dubb this iconic lace dress as the ‘2017 Choice for Wedding Guest Dress’.
