On June 21st, Kim Kardashian West released her Cremé Contour and Highlight kits to the world, and of course, they sold out! She has since restocked, and once again, they sold out within hours. We know there’s a demand, but are they really worth the hype?
The KKW kits range in four different shades: Light, Medium, Dark, and Deep Dark.
And many beauty bloggers/YouTubers have gotten their hands on Kim’s product. They have posted reviews, online, about what they think, after using it. Others have done ‘First Impression‘ videos where they showcase their ‘true’ reaction towards the contour/highlight sticks.
But some other people have mixed feelings about their experience with KKW contour/highlight sticks.
This guy seems to be a fan of the product and encourages others to try it!
The #KKW contour stick is all I use now a days. I don't even use foundation. It gives me a sheer/all natural/dewy look. #TryIt

*One user is clearly a fan, and showed off her look… *
Wait… the product breaks?
And then there’s the expensive price tag…
*On the bright side, at least one person found it made their makeup routine much easier… *
There’s barely any product…
For a more in depth reaction, YouTuber, Laura Lee, made a video about her honest review of the 4 different shades from the KKW kit.
In the video, Laura said that there was not a lot of product and may not last that long. However, as she was swatching the pigmented highlighters, the shimmer end of the highlighter broke off…
When applying the highlighter product, in the shade light, she said, “They appear to be going on really pretty, smooth, and matte.” But the product did continue to break off.
After using the contour stick, in the shade medium, Laura blended out the highlight and contour with the sponge on the brush/sponge stick that came with the kit. The product did blend out quite easily, and Laura thought that in the end, the overall look was very natural on her.
“These are meant for an every day, beautiful and soft, look!”
Laura recommends this product for beginners who are just learning how to contour. But if you are into the ‘Instagram girl‘ type of makeup, this product may not be for you, as they are very natural looking on the skin.
Regarding the $48 price (plus shipping), Laura makes a good point, by saying that while there is not enough product, you are paying for the ‘Kim Kardashian-West’ name. And since this was Kim’s first cosmetic product released, there is always room for perfection for future products.

As we mentioned, yesterday, Kim restocked the Crème Contour & Highlight Kit, and as per usual, the kit has already sold out. So it seems that the KKW Beauty brand is doing incredibly well.
And while people feel differently about the kit, it’s safe to say that people will continue buying KKW beauty products.
But it still could be the ultimate beauty product scam of 2017, thus far…
