Edible Nail Polish Might Seem Strange But It Actually Has Its Perks

By Kelsey Stoskopf

If you’re like us, biting your nails is a habit that you just can’t seem to break. No matter how perfect your newly painted nails are or how hard you try to kick the habit, it is always there. Because so many people are trying to kick this habit, a spicy nail polish was created. The goal of the nail polish was to get you to stop biting your nails because of the awful taste left in your mouth. Well, two parents just created a nail polish that gives us the opposite effect. They created a nail polish that is actually edible, tastes good and doesn’t make you want to wash your tongue with soap.

Audrey Amara and Josh Kroot decided to create an edible nail polish when they noticed their daughter’s newly found passion for painting her own nails. After realizing what chemicals were in the nail polish their daughter was using, they didn’t want to risk her sticking her fingers in her mouth all the time. So they created a nail polish called Kid Licks to solve that problem!

Kid Licks is an edible nail polish for kids that is made with fruits, vegetables and other plants. The organic nail polish makes it safe for kids to keep painting their nails without parents having to worry about what chemicals they might ingest if they bite their nails. However, if you want to try this edible nail polish for yourself, we say go for it! The polish can also be washed off with a simple soap and water mixture instead of harsh nail polish remover. Currently Kid Licks comes in three shades, Barely Grass Green, Beet Red and Sour Carrot Orange. What do you think? Are you going to try your hand at this edible nail polish?!
