Crazy Mom Tries To Pay Babysitter In Ice Cream

Babysitting can be a pretty tough gig. Looking after kids is never the easiest task. Sometimes a babysitter ends up watching a child that’s a little more than they bargained for. But, what happens when it’s not the children that create the issue? One Reddit user found out through an experience with a crazy mom that sometimes the parents are the problem. She simply reached out to collect the money she was owed. Things spiraled into insanity from there.

The series of messages started out on a bad note. Apparently, ice cream and fun should be payment enough! It only gets worse from there after the babysitter sent screenshots of their previous conversation.

Despite the babysitter remaining very professional, the mom will not budge! On top of that, she’s resorting to insulting the babysitter. The babysitter even tries to come to a compromise. In response, the mom offers her $20 instead of the previously agreed upon $128. But, this crazy mom didn’t stop there.

The exchange ends when the mom blocks the babysitter after calling her a nasty name! Somehow, this mom thinks she’s the one who is being reasonable. It seems as though she thinks it is completely outlandish that the babysitter is expecting the payment they decided on. It was even the mom that came up with the rate of $16 an hour to begin with. At a loss for what to do, the babysitter’s sister posted the messages on Reddit. That’s where commenters suggested the pair reach out to the husband or take the matter to small claims court.

In a second post, they shared that they decided to message the husband before taking things to court. At first, he blew off their request to have his wife pay for the babysitting, saying he would “talk to her about it” and then ignoring their follow-up messages. After the babysitter and her sister sent a lengthy message detailing their plans to take the issue to small claims court, they got somewhere with the family. The wife immediately unblocked the babysitter’s number and the babysitter is set to get her money. This all seems like a lot of drama over $128! Luckily, it seems to have ended well for the babysitter.

What would you do in this situation? Have you ever encountered a crazy parent while babysitting or have you ever had a bad babysitter experience? Let us know in the comments!
