No One Works Harder Than Mama Kris
You know what they say: “the devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder.”
Everyone knows Kris’s rate. She even jokes about it all the time. However, in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past decade, let’s catch you up to speed. Kris Jenner is the infamous “momager” of the careers of all her children: the infamous Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney and the younger Kylie and Kendall. Because of this, Kris earns 10% of all the profits her daughters make. Knowing her daughters have become multi-millionaires (and billionaires…we see you, Kylie), you can figure that these family members are making Kris quite the wealthy lady. And of course, they’d never choose another manager–or so she hopes.
But beyond Kris’s children, there are members of her family that are out of the spotlight and aren’t as profitable…like her sister, Karen Houghton.
That’s right, y’all. Kris has a sister that most people don’t even know about! Maybe she’s chosen to stay out of the spotlight for a reason.
Who Is Karen Houghton?
So what do we know about Kris’s sister, Karen, anyway?
According to OK!, Karen is three years younger than Kris and is her only sibling. When their parents divorced, their mother, MJ, became their primary guardian. Like her sister, Karen worked as a stewardess in her younger days and is now a careworker and part-time nurse. She has a daughter, Natalie Zettel, who is an aspiring model, like her cousin Kendall Jenner.
Though she has shaded Kris’s vanity and love of plastic surgery in the past, Karen got an extensive facelift that took five hours in 2016 in an attempt to look like her more famous sister. She even allowed Inside Edition to accompany her to the surgery and document the process. So she’s just as much of a publicity stan as her sister and nieces are.
Karen has also spoken out about Kris. In 2013, Karen told Radar Online: “I am not in touch with her, but I wish her the very best.”
Perhaps they’re still estranged because Kris seems to keep her relationship with her sister under wraps. Even if that means snubbing her on her birthday.
Snubbed On Her Birthday
Karen recently just spent her 60th birthday in the hospital with her daughter without any visits or happy birthday wishes from her sister Kris. Instead, Karen spent her birthday celebrating in the hospital wearing some fluffy PJs and eating a hospital meal with a single slice of birthday cake.
Although the severity of the injury is unreported, there are some bandages on her leg.
If you follow Kris on Instagram at all, you probably have noticed that she is constantly gushing over her famous friends and family on their birthdays with heartfelt posts. Kris loves expressing her affection on social media, but apparently not for estranged family members. Yet, she failed to post anything about her sister.
It definitely was not a forgetful moment or an accident, even if Kris is getting a little bit older.
Keeping Up With Kris And Karen
It was previously reported that Kris tries to keep Karen out of the spotlight. Allegedly, Karen has a history of being with men who Kris is not a fan of, some of who are troubled and have criminal records.
Despite this, Karen has always expressed her support of her famous nieces, especially on her Twitter page. Karen seems to want to be close to Kris’ children, even if her sister doesn’t support their relationship.
A family-insider source said, “Kris is so over the top when it comes to being image-conscious. While Karen is a totally down-to-earth sweetheart, she certainly doesn’t come close to meeting the glam standards that Kris likes to publicly project for her family. That’s also more than likely why you never see Karen on any of the family TV shows.”
Family Is Forever
However, Karen stated that no matter what happens between her and her sister that they love each other because ‘blood is blood.’ Does Kris think the same way? Why is she ignoring Karen’s birthday?
