15 Ways A Weekend Night Out Is Different In Your Early 20s Compared To Your Late 20s

You could party non-stop during your college days. Now that you're in your late 20s, though, it's a different story.

The way you walk into the bar.

In your early 20s, you strutted in like you owned the place and you could smell the excitement in the air. In your late 20s, you walk in with a feeling of dread and foreboding. “I can’t believe I’m here,” you think.

The amount of thought you put into your outfits.

In your early 20s, you would change outfits an average of three times before you picked the best one. Now, you go out in your sweatpants and don’t even feel guilty.

The amount of craziness that goes down while pre-gaming.

In your early 20s, the pregame was often more fun than the night out itself, serving as the perfect pump-up to a fun night out. In your late 20s, the pregame involves a glass of wine and Netflix, after which you decide to stay on the couch.

The drinks have drastically changed.

In other words, you need all the wine they have.

You absolutely can’t deal with bar bathrooms now.

In college, you’d go to the bathroom in pretty much any dirty hole in the wall. Now, nasty bar bathrooms are a no-go for you.

You don’t have FOMO anymore.

Your flirting game is way off.

In your early 20s, you knew exactly what to say to the person across the bar that you had your eye on. In your late 20s, not so much.

You try to find the least crowded bar.

In your early 20s, you wanted to go where all the people were. You didn’t mind standing shoulder to shoulder with people while trying to get a drink. In your late 20s, you actively seek out the quietest bar in the hopes of being able to actually hear your friends talk.

You don’t do anything wild or crazy.

Early 20s: BRING ON THE BODY SHOTS! Late 20s: It’s a no from me, thanks.

You’re always aware of the time.

In your early 20s, you’d party till the sun came up and not even think twice about it. In your late 20s, you consider midnight to be extremely late.

Doing Jäger shots sounds like your worst nightmare.

The you in your early 20s would have been ALL about that Jäger.

You actually offer to buy rounds now.

In the broke days of your early 20s, it was every man for himself when it came to buying drinks. Now, you’ll buy a round for your friends if it means one less trip you have to make to the bartender.
