10 Healthy Snacks That Your Kids Will Love

By Minq Team
Julia Kuzenkova

Getting a child to eat healthy is one of the toughest parts of parenting. Parents are constantly looking for new snack ideas that will get their children to enjoy healthy eating. Here are 10 healthy snacks that we guarantee your kids will love, and you might even like them yourself!

Mini Pizza

Every kid loves pizza, but ordering it from a restaurant guarantees greasy unhealthiness. Instead, try toasting an English muffin, drizzling some pizza sauce on top, and then complete the pie with low-fat mozzarella.

Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet potato fries are healthier than regular french fries, especially when you bake them instead of fry them. Slice up one or two sweet potatoes into little slivers.  Season with salt and a little parmesan cheese. Bake at 425 for 20 minutes and serve with ketchup or ranch.

Pretzel Stacks

Kids will love creating their own pretzel stack.  Give them small pretzels, banana slices, peanut butter, and a few chocolate chips.  Let them mix and match however they like.  See who can build, then eat, the tallest stack!

Grape Caterpillar

This snack is almost too cute to eat.  Using toothpicks or wooden skewers, create a grape caterpillar kabob.  If you want to get really fancy use mini chocolate chips and icing to create little eyes. Kids will love eating them plain or dipping them in vanilla yogurt!

Ants On A Log

This is a timeless favorite, and is super healthy! Just spread some peanut butter on celery and top it with raisins. If your kid isn’t a peanut butter fan, you can use low-fat cream cheese instead.

Peanut Butter Balls

Your kids will go crazy for this sweet but healthy treat. Just mix some corn flakes into peanut butter and form it into balls. Then roll the balls in over crushed graham crackers.

Cheese Quesadilla

All you need for this simple snack is a corn tortilla, Monterey Jack cheese, and some salsa. Sprinkle the cheese onto the tortilla, fold it in half, and microwave. Top it with some salsa and your kid will beg for more!

Healthier Ice Cream Sandwich

What kid can refuse an ice cream sandwich? With this healthier alternative, you won’t feel bad about giving your child what he or she wants. Smear some frozen yogurt onto a graham cracker, and then top that with some sliced bananas. Finish the sandwich by adding another graham cracker to the top.

Strawnana Smoothie

Another cool treat that no kid can resist is a fruit smoothie, and this recipe makes sure that it’ll be healthy. Blend low-fat milk, a fresh banana, and frozen strawberries for 30 seconds.

Frozen Banana

This healthy treat will be sure that your kid is getting his grains, fruit, and daity all in one snack. Dip a banana in yogurt, and then roll it in crushed cereal. After you freeze it, your kid will love this treat!

Snack Kabobs

If there’s one thing kids love, it’s finger food. Snack kabobs are the perfect way to easily get your kids to eat healthy. Just put some grapes and cubes of low-fat cheese onto pretzel sticks, and watch as your kids gobble them up.

Turkey Wraps

For a twist on the usual sandwich that your children will love, try a wrap. Spread mustard onto a flour tortilla, and then top it with a slice of turkey, lettuce, and low-fat cheese. Then just roll it up and hand if off to your hungry kids.

Trail Mix Made Easy

You can make some healthy trail mix for your kids in just seconds with this easy recipe. Just mix some cereal, nuts, and dried fruit in a Ziploc bag, and your kid has a healthy and tasty on-the-go snack!
