13 All Natural Ways to Keep Your Skin Baby Soft All Winter Long

By Minq Team
Julia Kuzenkova

Winter is a rough time for your beautiful skin. But instead of spending the big bucks on fancy products packed with chemicals, try the cheaper and healthier option - all natural. You have some of the best skincare products already in your house!

Aloe Vera

This plant might be one of your go-to's for your summer sunburn, but now it can be a winter staple too. Aloe Vera is one of the best ways to keep your skin smooth and soft during the harsh winter months. Instead of emptying your pocket on expensive products with Aloe in them, just buy a small Aloe plant.

Olive Oil

If you have a bottle of olive oil in your pantry, your skin is set for winter. Apply a light layer to your face as part of your bedtime routine. When you wake up, you will have baby soft and glowing skin.

Honey and Milk

Create a lotion using milk and organic honey. Apply it all through winter for skin you will not be able to believe. Why buy super expensive products with harsh chemicals when you have the perfect skincare ingredients in your kitchen?

Herbal Tea

For all you tea lovers, herbal tea is about to get 10 times better! How is that even possible? Apply a warm tea bag to your face to deliver all those antioxidants directly onto your skin.

Vitamin Rich Foods

Don’t worry, you don’t need to rub a bunch of food on your face. But it is important for your appearance and health to try to keep a diet of vegetables and fruits that are vitamin powerhouses. Remember to include papayas, oranges, spinach, kale, and carrots on your next grocery list.

Walnuts

These little nuts contain a boatload of omega-3 fatty acids, which prevent your skin from getting dry and scaly. Add a handful of walnuts to your breakfast each morning for perfectly soft skin all winter.

Water

This might sound a little basic, but water is a tried and true way to keep beautiful glowing skin in every season. The health benefits for water are endless so bottoms up.

Coffee Grounds

Don't throw out those coffee grounds just yet! A handful of coffee grounds make a fantastic exfoliator. Not only will the coffee slough off dead skin, but it will also give your skin a caffeine boost, perfect for always looking wide awake.

Steam

Say buh-bye to acne and dry and skin with a weekly steam facial. It opens pores, boosts circulation, and flushes out toxins. Bring a pot of water to a boil and remove from the stove. Drape a towel over your head, like a tent, and lean over the pot of water for 10 minutes. I guarantee you will feel rejuvenated after.

Cooler Showers

I know this can be a tough one in the winter, but hot, long showers aren't doing your skin any favors. Hot water dries out your skin majorly. You don't have to suffer through a freezing shower, just try to stay away from scalding hot ones.

Fruit Peels

For a quick, easy, and cheap at home spa treatment, look in your fruit bowl. Bananas, oranges, and lemons are perfect! Rub the inner part of the peel on your face and rinse after 10 minutes. It's as easy as that!

Avoid Sweets

This is a little tricky, but it's not impossible. Sugar and refined carbs, like white bread and white rice, contain glycation, which diminishes the elasticity of the skin. That can speed up acne formation and aging. Who wants that?

Get Moving

You don't need to run a marathon to keep an active lifestyle. Walk to nearby restaurants or do some squats while you're watching your guilty pleasure TV show. It can be as simple as that. When we move it increase overall blood flow. More blood flow leads to a healthier body and healthier skin.
