15 Homemade Hair Growth Recipes

By Minq Team

So many people want thicker, longer hair, but the formulas in stores can cost a fortune. Thankfully, you don't need that stuff becuase there are so many hair growth products already sitting in your kitchen! All you need is to know what to combine and how much to use, and we're here to help.

Egg Yolk With Olive Oil

Mix two egg yolks with two tablespoons of olive oil and add about a cup of water to dilute the mixture. Massage this mixture into your scalp and thoroughly coat your hair before you let it set for about ten to fifteen minutes. Good for restoring essential vitamins in your hair. Use only once or twice per month.

Banana Mask

Take a good looking banana and make it into a paste (without the peel). You can use a food processor for this, but a regular ceramic bowl and grinder works great. Cover all of your hair with this paste and then put a plastic bag over your hair. You want this paste to set in good, so use a blow dryer to help it set. You can rinse the paste out of your hair after about 20 minutes.

Caffeine Treatment

Mix 4 ounces of powdered caffeine with 8 ounces of your regular shampoo before you use it. You can also mix the caffeine powder with water to spritz it on your hair before a shower. This can be used on a daily basis, but try to avoid using it more than once per day.

Coconut Oil And Avocado

Start massaging warm coconut oil (NOT heated with the microwave!) into your hair, beginning at the roots and working your way to the tips. Make an avocado into a paste and cover JUST the tips of your hair. Rinse after 30 minutes and repeat once per week for best results.

Curry Leaves And Coconut Tonic

Boil these two ingredients together and harvest the black residue that starts to form in the pan. Let the residue cool and apply to hair twice weekly to improve growth and reduce gray hair. Make sure that you don’t fry the curry leaves or you won’t get the proper resin.

Onion Juice And Honey

Take 1-2 teaspoons of regular honey and mix it with the juices from one onion. You can use a regular juicer for the onion. Apply the mixture to areas that look thin, or all of your hair, and leave it in overnight. Shampoo in the morning to remove the onion smell or add some scented oils before you apply it on your scalp.

Almond Oil

Take regular almond oil and massage it into your hair, starting at the scalp and working to the tips. Let it sit for about 15 minutes and rinse it out. Use this treatment once per week for nourishment or twice per week if you are restoring dry or damaged hair.

Mayonnaise Massage

Get your hair a bit damp, not soaking wet, and basically massage the mayo into your hair. Start at the roots and bring it to the tips and let sit for about 20 minutes. Rinse the mayo out with warm water or a diluted shampoo.

Vinegar Rinse

Vinegar is actually very good for restoring the natural pH of your hair, which can be thrown off by various dyes and shampoos. Mix any vinegar from your local grocery store with one part vinegar and two parts water. Add any scented oils you like to improve the smell. Use twice weekly until you reach a point where you can do it once or twice per month.

Rosemary

Combine 2 teaspoons of crushed rosemary leaves with about 300mls of water. Massage the mixture into your hair, starting from the bottom and working towards the scalp. It’s a very light mixture; you can comfortably leave in for the entire day. No need to shampoo afterwards.

Coconut Oil And Lemon Juice

Use one part lemon juice to two parts coconut oil and massage this mixture into your scalp. Leave this in your hair overnight, or at least four to six hours, then rinse with cool water. Gently warm the coconut oil first and avoid using a microwave.

Burdock Oil And Aloe Vera

Mix 1 teaspoon of rosemary, basil, and lavender oils together. Add 5 drops of this oil mixture into 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel and burdock oil. Use this concoction to cover all of your hair and thoroughly massage it in. The longer you leave this in your hair, the better.

Oatmeal Hair Mask

Whip a half cup of regular oats, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and a half cup of milk into a thick consistency. Apply this mask to your hair for about twenty minutes, then rinse out with regular shampoo. Promotes hair growth and fights gray hair.

Lemon And Olive Oil

Put 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, olive oil, and water in a mixture together. Massage this mixture on a damp scalp and wrap it with a warm towel. Let sit for about 20 minutes, then rinse and shampoo.

Egg And Yogurt Mask

Heat an egg until it begins to look foamy, then add some yogurt and mayonnaise until you get a smooth paste. Massage into your scalp and cover it with a bag so the mixture doesn’t drip on the floor. You need this to stay in your hair for about one hour for maximum results.
