An Australian woman has faced horrific results from getting her eyebrows microbladed at a place called Cosmetics Tattoo in Victoria, Australia. Eyebrows are a key part of your face, as they help show expression, so to have them ruined is a true tragedy. The woman has shared her painful story with the Internet, as a warning to those considering getting the cosmetic procedure done.
Amanda Coats, from Melbourne, Australia, made the decision to get her eyebrows microbladed to enhance her natural brows. She got her procedure done by a woman named Ulzii Cleveland. But while Amanda was there, she noticed Ulzii in a rushed hurry, tending to multiple clients. According to Revelist, Amanda said that she ended up with a very terrible infection, causing her skin to flake and her eyes to puff up. She also made note of the sanitary conditions coming from Ulzii Cleveland.
So many red flags, just for that fact...and even more red flags for Ulzii apparently ignoring Amanda's deep concerns that were extremely valid.
Instead of owning up and helping, as a professional should, Ulzii continued to ignore Amanda and then made excuses. Amanda said she was told that the '"fading was normal" and that she was "being dramatic."
Based on what Amanda claims as far as how the technician performed in her job, I don't see why the technician thinks she can get away with saying that to a client! I mean, Amanda said she's now facing possible scarring, because of this woman's huge mistake.
Revelist also stated that Amanda Coats has acquired a lawyer and is seeking damages from Ulzii Cleveland and the salon cosmetic company. Let's hope that Amanda gets the proper payment and care that she deserves because this is simply unacceptable, from a 'specialized' company.
Since posting her story to Facebook, Amanda has shared that the post got taken down, due to copyright infringements.
But Amanda wanted to thank her supporters, in an updated post.
We've talked about the microblading trend before. But if you still don't understand what microblading is, don't worry, we got you! Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing treatment that fills in sparse eyebrows. Usually, the specialist is supposed to work in a clean environment using, with hygienic quality. The technician will very carefully and precisely use this 'exacto-knife' tool that also contains needles to apply pigments that imitate additional hairs. To create the eyebrows, the technicians use 'hair-like' strokes to mimic the natural hairs in your eyebrows. And the results are supposed to look natural and last a long time.
If you have become a little more skeptical of getting your brows microbladed, you can always watch YouTube tutorials on how to fill in your brows. Then after watching, head out to your local Sephora or Ulta to get some new brow products.
But if you still wanted to get the brows microbladed, please do your research! Not just yelp reviews, I'm talking in depth research. And if you feel you have found a good technician, please make sure you set up a consultation to get a feel of how the technician works and what the quality of the environment is like.
After learning about this woman's story, it might be smart to not get it done if you have sensitive skin or if you have ever experienced a skin allergic reaction.
This eyebrow accident has permanently turned me off from even the thought of getting my brows microbladed.
I think I'll just stick to doing my eyebrows, myself...forever.
