The gorgeous queen, herself, Rihanna, released her own line of cosmetic products earlier in September. She named her line, Fenty Beauty, as Fenty is actually Rihanna's real last name (fans were shook upon hearing this). And those same fans headed to their local Sephora or ordered online, all of the makeup products their hearts desired.
But the real question is: "How good are the beauty products?"
Pulling from Sephora reviewers and some beauty influencers on YouTube, here are the ULTIMATE reviews of the Fenty Beauty Line.
Purpose: Smooths pores, evens out the skin, allows for longer makeup wear
It seems that Sephora reviewers were split, depending on the skin type they had (oily vs. dry).
Cons- "Wouldn't recommend for oily skin" and "It broke me out all over my face."
Pros- "It definitely prepped my skin and refreshed it as well without feeling too heavy" and "If you have severely dry skin but also large pores, you need to try this one!"
Pro- Nikkie Tutorials said, "The primer has a good scent. The primer feels soft on the skin with a hydrated-velvet feel."
Purpose: Matte foundation with medium-to-full coverage
The foundation was probably the most controversial product in the entire line.
Pro-"I like a dewy foundation that is lightweight. I LOVE THIS!"
Con- "The product just sits in my pores and fine lines and does not blend out well on drier areas."
Pro- Nyma Tang said she loved the finish of the foundation so much, that she didn't feel the need to set it with a powder.
Pro/Con- Nikkie Tutorials liked the color range but mentioned, "The foundation dries really, really fast. It can look a tiny bit streaky."
Purpose: Conceal, contour, and correct
Some people had different opinions about this product.
Pro- "I picked up truffle to contour- because I love warm contours, and this did not disappoint."
Con- "This product creased under my under eyes and it looked horrible."
Pro/Con- Manny MUA felt that the stick worked more as a brightening highlighter stick, instead of a concealer.
Pro- Laura Lee talked about how rich and creamy it acted as a concealer.
Purpose: Conceal, contour, highlight
When it came to the Match Stix Trio, a majority of the reviewers did recommend to buy it!
Pros- "This is the best cream stick I have ever used" and "The concealer in this trio works flawlessly under my eyes. Not too heavy. Does not settle in fine lines."
Pro- Laura Lee used the contour stick and noticed how pigmented the product was.
Purpose: Use as either a highlight or blush
This was a hit with customers of the shimmer skinstick!
Pros- "It blended SO well with my skin and gave me a beautiful glow without looking tacky" and "You get the best of both worlds, a powder like finish with an added dewy look. In love!"
Purpose: Illuminate the skin in a lightweight highlighter
95% of Sephora reviewers stand by this product!
Pros- "I'm in love with this highlighter. in the color Trophy Wife. It looks beautiful on eyelids" and "This is hands down the best highlighter I've ever purchased! "
Pro- Nikkie Tutorials used the Trophy Wife highlighter on her eyes and said she loved how the product is extremely pigmented.
Con- Nyma Tang said that the highlighter was something she wouldn't wear on an everyday basis.
Purpose: A rose-nude shine that gives the perfect glossy effect to the lips
A ton of people love this product, as the shade and gloss work well on literally anyone!
Pros- "It feels super moisturizing & has a pleasant peach smell" and "I normally hate lip gloss but this one is a game changer!"
Pro- Manny MUA loved the feel of the lipgloss and said it was a hit for him!
Con- Laura Lee said, "There's nothing special about it. It's just pretty lip gloss."
Purpose: Absorbs shine and diffuses pores
Sephora customers with more of a combination-oily skin loved this product! But some others did not like the effect it gave to their foundation.
Pros- "I added this to my face for a touch-up, and baby, my face looked like it had a fresh application of foundation. I was shook! Great buy" and "The best powder EVER! No white cast on dark skin tones, perfect for combo-oily skin."
Cons- "I will not be using again, unfortunately...the application is stunning but it gives horrible results" and "It looked dusty and didn't really blend. Since the point is to blot without messing up your makeup, this just doesn't work with my skin."
Pro- James Charles tested out the powder to see if it was flashback-proof and he agreed that it was and said that it was a major win!
Overall, the Sephora reviewers and YouTubers can agree on one thing- Rihanna did not disappoint!
While some may have had their own personal preferences, the majority seemed to like the line and would recommend for others to try out. Well...if you can get your hands on any of the Fenty Beauty products.
Rihanna has been selling out fast and consistently restocking the products. But don't worry too much, Rihanna's making sure everyone gets the chance to try out her line!
